Hashim Akib Workshop

Network Arts workshop featured a demo from Hashim Akib - an artist who uses a really wide (5') flat brush and acrylic paint. No mixing just heavy loading of paint. Attempted a couple of pieces using the same technique although I didn't have a wide enough brush.

Abstract / landscape in oils

Today at the www.networkarts.co.uk workshop our tutor was Mo Teeuw. Great workshop, working on landscapes / abstraction in oils. Seriously considering painting holiday to Morrocco now.

A friend took this photograph of The Racecourse in Northampton the other day - perfect opportunity to paint it. If I had planned a bit better I would have printed it out rather than trying to paint from a pic on my phone.

 

Aspects of Earth

www.networkarts.co.uk workshop with Lyn Engle - 'Aspects of Earth'. Lots of source materials - pictures of fossils, crystals, mountains. Also big shiny pebble collection.  My favourite (above) was acrylic on mdf - abstraction based on some mystery thing in a photo.
